Blush is that one important beauty product that we grew up seeing in our mom’s vanity and in the handbag of every glamorous woman we looked up to.
Blush is basically a soft pigment available in powders and creams meant to mimic the natural flush of your face , making your complexion look all the more fresh, healthy, glowy and vibrant.
Blushes are the rainbow of modesty.
Two Major Types Of Blush
- Powder Blush
It can be used on bare face or over foundation. These are available in wide range of hues , with finishes that range from matte to satin and illuminating.

It can be blended on top of your foundation and is especially the best when used on bare skin. They have more staying power than the powder blush. They’re highly pigmented hence, advice is to apply with the light hand.

✔️ Lightly sweep your brush through your powder blush and tap it to remove any extra. Apply the blush to your cheeks and use another clean brush to blend well.
✔️ If using a liquid blush, dab a little on your ring finger , dot the color first and then use a bender to blend it in. For the most natural look, finish blending with blush brush.
✔️ Blot excess blush with a tissue.
How to apply blush, in order to complement the face shape?
⭕ Heart shaped face
Apply your blush in C- shape, curved line from the top of your temple down to your cheekbone. Apply the blush a little more softly on your temple and gradually increase pressure as you approach the cheekbone area.
You can add more definition to your face if you suck in your cheeks and lightly sweep the blush brush in a line underneath your cheekbones. Don’t apply blush to the apples of your cheeks because this will make your face look more round.
⭕ Oval face
Use a soft stroke, and move from your cheekbones down towards the ear lobes. Add a pinch of blush just above the temple region as well.
⭕ Square face
Apply your blush directly to the apples of your cheeks in a circular motion to soften angular features and also draw attention to the most round part of your face.
